Meet Nikolai!
I ADOPTED A KITTY!!!!!!!!!!!
Yup. That’s my news. I was about to sit down and write about books, but then… kitty love took over. His name is Nikolai, based off of Nikolai Lantsov from Leight Bardugo’s Shadow and Bone Trilogy. I know he is in King of Scars (I mean… he IS the King of Scars, no?), but I refuse to read that book until the sequel comes out!
In any case, my little Nikolai is precious. I absolutely love him. He has no concept of time. So far, he has been content with sleeping on my hands when I’m trying to write, and running around like a madman when I’m trying to sleep. He aggressively headbutts me when he wants to be pet, and will climb high things and meow until I acknowledge his impressive balancing skills. On occasion, he will try to do that thing that cats do where they rub against your legs? Except instead of brushing past me, he falls against me like he is drunk. It’s adorable!
Oh! And he does this thing where before drinking his water, he taps his paw in it like he is trying to test the water. I’m not sure what his goal is with that, but he still drinks his water, so whatever test he is running must be successful…
He is the most loving, cuddly kitty I have ever met. He will happily lay on me for hours, and always wants you to play or pet him. But he also likes to hide… a lot. He liked to hide behind the fridge for a little bit, but he seems to be over that. Now, he likes the boxes in my attic, under my bed, and… oof… behind the toilet (mainly when I’m at the sink brushing my teeth). He definitely prefers to be in the same room as me, which is cute. I have the cutest little shadow.
Long story short, taking Nikolai in was the best decision I could have made. He is precious and I love him.
Here. Have a photo. Hope he makes your day as bright and cheery as he has made mine!
